Hello There!
I’m Floor de Jonge, professional word-wrangler and chief negotiator to seven wildly creative children and a suspiciously organised flock of chickens (I’ve caught them studying military strategy books—send help).
When I’m not typing furiously between school drop-offs, you’ll find me conducting serious chocolate research (Swiss chocolate requires rigorous testing—it’s practically a public service), coaxing reluctant vegetables from our garden, or explaining to visitors that yes, that ‘is’ supposed to be art on our walls.
My story began in Romania, where Carpathian legends whispered into my dreams, and the Black Sea taught me that the best adventures start with “probably shouldn’t” (I can’t swim). Now, Switzerland’s thunderous Rhine Falls provides the soundtrack to our beautiful chaos, where “quiet time” exists purely in theory, and laundry multiplies when no one’s looking.
Standing at the centre of this beautiful storm is my Dutch husband—steady as a mountain and twice as patient. He’s the kind of man who can find missing shoes, lost plot points, and my sanity all before breakfast. Together with our exuberant crew, we’ve mastered the art of turning ordinary Tuesdays into memorable disasters (I mean… adventures).
Currently, I’m birthing two literary babies: Scritch-Scratch, What’s That Batch?, a picture book celebrating the unsung heroes of the compost bin (go, earthworms, go!) and Between Black and White, a heart-tugging journey about finding your place when you don’t fit neatly into boxes.
I’ve chosen the self-publishing path because it suits my particular brand of creative chaos, though I tip my hat to all the ways stories find their readers.
So whether you’re a midnight page-turner, a parent seeking bedtime magic, or someone who simply loves a good tale—welcome to my world! The kettle’s always on, the cookies are (mostly) homemade, and there’s always room for another book lover in this adventure.
